Event Details

Please join me on Monday Oct. 25th to explore the Barnum Creek Nature Reserve.

The hike is an easy – moderate 7km loop. Hiking speed 3-4km/hr.

I will share with  you some of the land’s history as well as stories of it’s past gathered from the family who have donated this land, now stewarded by the Haliburton Land Trust.

We will hike through forests, open fields, along a highridge and a lovely side trail called Waterfall Way.

Hiking poles recommended for the ridge trail (a 1km section) but other sections are easy walking. Low spots can be muddy.

Bring water, snacks, hiking boots and your big smile.

Leader: Cara O. Depart 10:00 a.m. 1118 Gould Crossing Rd.,

(OFF GELERT RD, 5KM SE OF HALIBURTON VILLAGE).

GPS co. N 45.0179, W 78.5318.

NOTE OF CAUTION; Google Maps mistakenly calls Gould Crossing Road, Cowan Road. There is a sign on Gelert Road that says Gould Crossing Road. The road to the trailhead is gravel and not regularly maintained and can be rough. Steep climb to parking area near top of hill on right.
