Event Details

Many contemporary painters are working with an expansive vocabulary of paint, using (and pushing) the properties of the paint and its application in unexpected ways and combinations. Their paintings offer us rich and surprising tactile experiences, a vivid sense of the artist’s hand, as well as fascinating optical effects. Kim-Lee Kho will share numerous gorgeous examples from artists working today – many of them Canadian! – focusing in on their materiality and painterly language. An actively exhibiting multidisciplinary artist, instructor, speaker and consultant with a previous life in design, Kim-Lee Kho teaches regularly at HSAD, Neilson Park Creative Centre, and Visual Arts Mississauga. This presentation relates closely to her own approach to painting and she has taught numerous popular courses and workshops on related topics. Contact: 1.866.353.6464 ext. 3  /  705.457.1680 askus@hsad.ca
