Event Details

Restrictions are lifting: We can now allow guests (non-members) on our hikes! We of course hope that you have such a great time that you do become members (Become a Member – Ganaraska Hiking Trail (ganaraska-hiking-trail.org).
This difficult 19k car shuttle hike will take us over rugged terrain along the Ganraska Trail. We will lunch atop Scrabble Mountain and then head on to Petticoat Junction where we’ll take the Devil’s Lake Side Trail back to the cars, but not before we take a break and an optional swim at Sheldon Lake. We’ll have a few beaver dam crossings along with some great views throughout the day. There are no guarantees when it comes to the water levels in this park, so be prepared to get your feet wet.
We’ll meet at Devil’s Lake Access Point. GPS: 44.859436, -78.815903. Arrive 20 minutes prior for hike briefing. Hiking boots, lunch, water(2L min) are required. Hiking poles recommended. No dogs. No dropouts.
Register for this early morning, 8:30am, hike by emailing Glynn: glynnr_at_hotmail.com. GHTA members can register immediately. Non-members can register starting Aug 1 provided there is still room as spaces are limited.
Directions: Hwy 35, turn left on Deep Bay Road, then left at Devil’s Lake Road. Park near the Trailhead, from there we will shuttle to our starting point.
