Sat. Sep 1: Wilderness: GHTA 50th Anniversary Hike (Difficult 12k): Montgomery Creek Loop

For intermediate and advanced hikers only:

Join us on a challenging, strenuous 12 km hike over rugged terrain as we celebrate our 50th anniversary with a hike on the Ganaraska Trail, Montgomery Creek Loop in the Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park. This hike is part of our 50th anniversary water carry event and is also needed to qualify for the GHTA Wilderness End-End badge.

We will meet at 9:00am at Lewisham Lane & Black Lake Rd. GPS: 44.799659, -79.150671. We will car shuttle 9km down a rough dirt road to the access point.

There are a number of beaver dam and stream crossings. Water levels are low so we don’t expect to get our feet wet. Hiking boots, hiking poles, bug spay and bug hat/jacket are recommended. Bring lunch, snack, water(2L minimum). No Dogs. No drop out.

All participants will need to sign the “Ganaraska Hiking Trail Association Waiver of Liability & Assumption of Risk” prior to participation.
