Join us in a discussion with Dr. Kari Kreough, co-founder of EcoWisdom Forest Preserve, a community-based initiative that uses mindful nature connection to promote holistic mind-body-soul wellbeing. Kari will briefly review the forest medicine research showing the mindful nature connection (forest bathing/shinrin yoku) improves physical, emotional and cognitive function, and will guide participants in practices to support their own wellbeing. This is part of a continuing series on “Making our Communities Better Places”, and will be opened with music by the Porter Brothers–George and Steve.
Open to all, no admission charge, light refreshments provided. Hosted by the Baha’i community of Haliburton.

Stacey is a guitarist and vocalist who enjoys blending indie folk, classic rock, and rap influences. With a passion for music and a willingness to learn, she’s been having fun exploring her musical creativity. Stacey has enjoyed jamming with friends, playing at open mic nights, accompanying some established musicians on opening gigs, and taking part as a vocalist and keyboardist in a 90s band for a fundraising event. She’s also had the opportunity to hone her songwriting skills this year at the Winterfolk Camp. Currently, Stacey is continuing to develop her skills through regular drum lessons, guitar lessons, and upcoming vocal improv lessons. She’s excited to see where her musical journey takes her and is looking forward to sharing her love of music with others at this month’s open mic night

The campers are all finally asleep, and the lake is getting quiet. Have a beer; make a s’more; tell a scary story. Figure out what you’re going to have to do in the morning to keep camp fun and safe without letting the kids find out about… well, you’ve seen the news. I just got a notification – they’re getting closer.
Following a group of camp counselors trying to mold the leaders of tomorrow when tomorrow is looking bleaker and bleaker, The Grown-Ups explores the traditions that change us, what it takes for us to change them, and how to change yourself when you’re hopelessly, tragically not prepared for this.
“The Grown-Ups” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
Content Warning: The Grown-Ups contains mild adult themes, alcohol use, and strong language. We recommend it for audiences ages 12 and older.
