Get your Haliburton Highlands Heritage Passport
Step into the history, culture, and stories of the Haliburton Highlands with this interactive summer experience. The Haliburton Highlands Heritage Passport invites visitors of all ages to explore six unique museums and heritage sites across the region between July and August.
Collect stamps as you visit participating locations, discover hands-on exhibits and special programming, and experience the communities, traditions, and local history that make the Haliburton Highlands unique. Along the way, participants can qualify for prizes while enjoying a fun and memorable way to explore the region this summer.
Participating Locations
Dorset Heritage Museum
Featuring early exhibits of early pioneer life, local settlers, traditional logging practices and historic information pertaining to pioneer settlement of the Dorset area. Dorset Museum website
The Dorset Heritage Museum is open during the springtime, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From July until Thanksgiving, the Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Haliburton Highlands Museum

How the Passport Works
Exploring the Haliburton Highlands Heritage Passport is simple and designed for all ages to enjoy throughout the summer.
1. Pick Up Your Passport
Passports are available at participating museums and heritage locations across the Haliburton Highlands.
2. Visit Participating Locations
Travel throughout the region and explore each museum or cultural site at your own pace between July and August.
3. Collect Your Stamps
Receive a stamp each time you visit a participating location and experience its exhibits, activities, or programming.
4. Complete Your Passport
The more locations you visit, the more stamps you collect and the more opportunities you have to qualify for prizes.
5. Submit Your Passport
Once completed, follow the instructions inside the passport to enter the prize draw before the end of the program.
Prizes & Rewards
Participants who collect stamps throughout the program will have opportunities to qualify for prizes and giveaways. Prize details may include local treats, gift cards, tourism experiences, and other Haliburton Highlands-themed rewards.

How much does it cost?
The Heritage Passport is free to participate in. Some locations may have admission fees or optional donations.
Do I need to visit every location?
No. Visitors can explore as many participating locations as they would like, although collecting more stamps may increase eligibility for prizes. You can also explore the same location multiple times to collect your stamps.
Is the program family-friendly?
Yes. The Heritage Passport is designed for all ages and includes interactive exhibits, activities, and experiences suitable for families.
Can I complete the passport in one day?
It is possible, but visitors are encouraged to spread their visits throughout the summer to fully experience each location and community.

How do I enter the prize draw?
Once you collect 6 stamps, show your passport to receive a voucher for a Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream Cone!
Once you collect 8 stamps, drop off your completed passport for a chance to win a prize!
Passport stamps can be collected until August 31, 2026.
Who can participate?
The program is open to both residents and visitors looking to discover the history and culture of the Haliburton Highlands.
