Event Details

A friendly weekly event held at Rails End Gallery.
All welcome. We have drums, percussion and seating, or BYO.
Come celebrate the awesomeness of rhythm in community.
What to expect
Community drum circles are inclusive gatherings where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to create rhythmic music using various percussion instruments. These circles promote unity, stress relief, and cultural appreciation, fostering a sense of belonging and shared creativity through the universal language of rhythm.
Weekly format:
participants arrive and set up the circle and drums
warm up, basic instruction on three basic drum sounds – slap, tone and bass (if needed)
introductions — names etc.
more drumming – open session – meaning loosely facilitated with extended periods of “just drumming”, synchronicity often appearing as the group attunes to individual sounds by listening, developing rhythm patterns, growing music together and relaxing into the awesomeness of community drumming.
Background
This free program sponsored by Rails End Gallery (a Canadian Charity). It has been running consistently since 2007 introducing the awesomeness of drumming to hundreds! We gratefully acknowledge CANOE FM 100.9 radio for its support in 2023 along with individual donors. Many of our drums are donated.
Donations in support of community programming are always welcome and may be made at the door (suggested $5 or online through Canada Helps seasonally/annually)
Rails End Members are free. Membership starts at just $20 www.railsendgallery.com/membership
