Join guitarist Nicholas Russell as he shares recent film and musical projects and chats about cultivating an arts-based career in a rural area. The talk will include partial screenings of projects where Nick was either composer and/or sound designer, including the unreleased documentary film ‘Grazed Right’, which reveals the struggles of small-scale grass-fed cattle farming in Alberta. He’ll also highlight projects made locally in partnership with ARC (Abbey Retreat Centre); the soundscape projects for ARC’s ‘Reshaping Our Cancer Stories’, which uses nature, music & media as a therapeutic tool. The talk will conclude with a live performance of Nick on guitar accompanying vocalist Carling Stephens.
