February Folk Fest

 

The February Folk Fest is a celebration of talented musicians and community spirit, taking place across venues throughout the Haliburton Highlands. From folk and acoustic to pop and beyond, the festival features music of all genres, offering unforgettable performances that will brighten even the coldest winter days.

  • Dates: February 1–28, 2026
  • Locations: Various venues across Haliburton Highlands
  • Admission: Some events are free  while other venues may be ticketed or accept donations

First Week of February

Union Duke

Two fifths country, two fifths city, and one fifth whiskey. They have been described as a raucous collision of alt-rock and twang, bringing crowds to their feet with songs from the heart…

Nicholas Russell

Nicholas’s musical interests encompass a wide range of genres, including jazz and blues, world music, classical, and folk music. Have dinner and enjoy Nick’s guitar work.

Sunday – February 1 & 8

Rhubarb Restaurant – 6 pm

Gord Kidd & Friends

Musician and song writer featuring covers of your favorite Country and Rock songs.

Tuesday – February 3

Dominion Hotel  – 5 pm

Old Time Winter Square Dance

Featuring square dance caller Hannah Shira Naiman, live bluegrass musicians and a performance by the Haliburton Scottish Country Dancers.

Saturday – February 7

Haliburton Legion  – 7 pm

Taco and Tunes

Come for Dinner and Stay for the Tunes!!! Don’t forget your dancing shoes!!! Featuring the Ya Babys!!!

Poquito Loco, Haliburton  – 6 pm

Special feature musicians and local artists.

Terra Lightfoot

Hometown favourite Terra Lightfoot returns with her talented trio. Their energy and charisma onstage together creates musical magic, led by Terra’s wonderful voice and monster guitar playing. Her latest album Healing Power was recently long-listed for the prestigious 2024 Polaris Music Prize.
