Signature Stays Recognition Program

This document outlines the criteria for accommodations to be recognized as a Signature Stay in the Haliburton Highlands by MyHaliburtonHighlands.com (MHH). The program highlights properties that provide exceptional guest experiences, outstanding service, and a strong connection to the region. Signature Stays may use the branding, participate in promotional campaigns, and may be featured in regional advertising and marketing materials.

Eligibility Criteria: Core Requirements

Property Type and Capacity: 

  • Eligible properties include inns, lodges, resorts, and cottage resorts with the ability to host multiple guests simultaneously.
  • Single-unit short-term rentals (STRs) or properties without consistent on-site management are not eligible.

Automatic Qualification: 

Properties meeting any of the following criteria are fast-tracked for consideration:

  • Participation in Travel Trade / packaging programs
  • Feast On certified
  • Sustainability or eco-certifications recognized in the region (e.g., GreenStep)

Guest Experience and Quality Standards: 

  • High ratings and consistent positive reviews across platforms (average 4.5 or more)
  • Exceptional cleanliness, service, and guest care.
  • Amenities and facilities that support an enjoyable stay and contribute to the visitor experience.

Signature Experience Factor: 

Properties should provide a distinctive Haliburton Highlands experience, such as:

  • Waterfront access or nature-based experiences
  • Culinary offerings, farm-to-table experiences, or local food integration
  • Access to trails, paddling, guided activities, or on-site recreation
  • Unique design, architecture, or historic significance

 

Marketing and Branding Alignment: 

  • Properties must align with MHH branding and storytelling standards, reflecting the natural beauty, character, and tranquility of the region.
  • Participation in marketing campaigns, social media, and promotional materials may be requested.

Application Process: 

Submission: 

  • Property owners or managers must request by email for inclusion, along with High-quality images, website details, and an explanation on how their property algins with the eligibility criteria as listed above. info@myhaliburtonhighlands.com 

Review: 

  • Applications will be reviewed by a designated committee within the MyHaliburtonHighlands.com team to ensure all criteria are met. 

Approval: 

Properties recognized as a Signature Stay will receive:

  • Permission to use the Signature Stay branding
  • Inclusion in promotional campaigns, advertising, and potential future travel trade initiatives

Properties that do not meet the criteria will be provided with feedback and may reapply once the necessary improvements are made. 

Ongoing Compliance: 

  • Signature Stays will be subject to periodic review to ensure standards and experiences remain exceptional.
  • Properties failing to maintain program standards may lose recognition and branding privileges.
