Presented by George Pratt. Stories from the turn-of the century diaries of Reina Gibbs and J.B. Sedgwick. George Pratt, a renowned sculptor, raconteur and student of history, has led a multiyear project to crowd source the transcriptions of two sets of diaries: Reina Gibbs, a Stanhope farm girl who kept a daily diary of life on her farm and the Maple Lake neighbourhood from 1900 to 1908, and J.B. Sedgwick, a Haliburton County school teacher who writes in his 1898 to 1904 diaries about his career and travels as far north as Fletcher Lake in the Dorset area. Perhaps your ancestors are mentioned!

George’s presentation will start at 7 p.m., in the accessible lower level of the church and will be preceded by a short HHGG business meeting at 6:30. All are welcome.

No admission fee. Please enter the building by the lower level doors off the Chandos St. parking lot.
