As a follow up to last year’s webinars on the Common Invasive Plants of Haliburton County, we would like to offer an in-person workshop to further landowners’ understanding of the impacts, monitoring and control of some common invasive plants.
This year we have asked Monica Liedtke to join us. Monica is the Terrestrial Invasive Plant Coordinator for the Invasive Species Centre. She will do a brief indoor presentation on the common invasive plants of Haliburton County followed by a guided tour of some infestation sites to further discuss control methods in the field. The tour will include sites that we can walk to and some that are a further distance away. Carpooling will be encouraged.
Past participation in our previous webinars in not necessary.

Nature journaling is the practice of observing the natural world and recording what you see, hear, and feel using words, pictures, and numbers. It’s not about artistic skill—it’s about slowing down, paying attention, and connecting more deeply with nature. Whether you’re sketching a leaf, describing the sound of the wind, or noting patterns and changes in the landscape, this practice builds curiosity, mindfulness, and a sense of place.
No artistic experience is necessary—just bring your sense of wonder!
