Marcus Thompson is an emerging Canadian jazz soloist. The young trumpet player was born and raised in Toronto. Both of his parents were public school music teachers and had Marcus playing violin before he could talk. He later switched to trumpet like his father. His soft sounds are reminiscent of jazz legends Chet Baker and Miles Davis while flying around standards like the great Freddie Hubbard. He will be supported on guitar by Nicholas Russell.
