Event Details
Architect and artist Howard Rideout has spent decades working across a wide range of architectural projects, distinguished by an internationally recognized illustration practice that brings ideas vividly to life. In this talk, Rideout shares how this unique fusion of architecture and drawing informs nolevelon, a wilderness preserve and sculpture garden in Muskoka he has envisioned since childhood. Through a series of interconnected charcoal drawings, he reveals how composition, light, and shadow are used to choreograph a journey through the landscape and evoke its emotional character—offering insight for artists, visual communicators, and those deeply connected to the natural world.
