In an example of truth and reconciliation put into practice, Craig Macdonald spent decades creating a unique map of Temagami, developed through trust and experience, in partnership with the Teme-Augama Anishnabai. This map, in many people’s estimation, became one of the most significant maps in the Canadian cartographic canon because of the traditional knowledge it contained.

Victoria Grant, of the Temagami First Nation wanted to preserve how the map came to be and also to capture for all time some of the details of the remarkable man who did the work. That is the story of Echo Maker.
