The Nest (2025), directed by Chase Joynt, follows a decolonial writer, Julietta Singh as she returns to her haunted childhood home. As she digs into the history of the house, she uncovers 140 years of forgotten matriarchs and political rebels she never knew. Indigenous, deaf, Japanese and South Asian communities and histories are all connected through the building’s walls. The Nest explores who gets lost in the archives of history, and what we stand to gain by resurrecting them. Presented in partnership with Haliburton County Public Library, this screening is open to all ages.
